To get a sense of how organizations fare once they set out on the road of asset-based organizational development, we interviewed executive directors, program staff and volunteer leaders in ten diverse Arizona organizations and agencies working in the areas of clinical health services, in-home health services, early education, youth prevention, domestic violence, addiction and recovery, schools, aging and behavioral health.
Each of these organizations has made a committment to adopting the principles and practices of asset-based development in both internal and external operations. While they range from small, volunteer-driven programs to large, staff-dominated programs with large budgets, they all share a common set of experiences, goals, challenges and successes.
Here are some of their stories and reflections.
